The EmpirBus decentralized electrical distribution system uses input/output nodes and Canbus communication to bring on board electrical distribution into the 21st century. Large savings on cables and breaker panels are achieved by shortening the runs and reducing the diameter of cables while all outputs are given their own resetable electronic fuses in place of the traditional circuit breaker.

Each node is capable of handling up to 32 configurable inputs or outputs and can be linked to up to 99 other nodes in the system via a communication cable . Each node independently maintains it owns configuration to safeguard the system.

Add an optional GSM and you can text your boat to turn on the heater (or any connected appliance) or check the battery condition. Further add a GPS and it becomes a tracking device –first alerting you that someone has broken in then informing you where the boat is.

The EmpirBus system is not ”vapourware“ it has been installed on the Swedish equivalent of the RNLI for 6 years -so impressed are they that it is now installed in all vessels from small RIB’s to full cruisers. EmpirBus has already withstood the rigours of extremely harsh environments and is now available for all boat owners.
